Fraud Is Breaking NEMT. Modernization Is the Way Forward.
Outdated, legacy systems leave Medicaid transportation vulnerable to fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA). The losses are measured not only in dollars, but in missed appointments and delayed care for those who need it most.
There’s a better way. With modern technology and real-time oversight, health plans can safeguard budgets and ensure members get reliable access to care.
Which means the question isn’t whether to modernize NEMT — it’s how quickly you can make the switch. Discover how health plans are building a fraud-resistant future, on the blog now. →

The Latest from Kinetik
Ten teams. Four days. Real-world impact.
This year’s Hackathon brought bold ideas to life as cross-functional teams designed and tested solutions to address some of NEMT’s toughest challenges. The creativity and collaboration were inspiring, especially around smarter workflows and stronger member tools. Watch our video to see the teams at work.
Congratulations to our 2025 winning team: Rob Giraldi, Rashid Al Shafee, Rashidul Hasan, Reshad Hasan, Tahmina Islam, and Stefan Antic 👏. They delivered an incredible project that Kinetik is excited to put into action. Watch the video here.
Our second place team: Viraj Gulati, Lakshita Chhikara, Burkley Wombwell, Lalitha Ayyappan, Anna Hardeman, and Josh Gonzalez, stood out for its innovation and immediate applicability, and we’re already moving forward with plans to implement it. Watch the video here.
Product Update
Our team worked together in well-coordinated sprints to release enhancements across our platform to create an optimized member experience with the Kinetik Health App.
-
New Member Sign-Up Experience: We’ve streamlined onboarding to reduce drop-offs and incomplete registrations - simplifying the process to increase successful sign-ups.
-
Smarter, More Accurate Search: Members can find what they need faster with more precision.
-
Recurring Trip Scheduling: Members can now schedule recurring medical trips directly in the Kinetik Health App. Whether weekly or monthly, appointments can be set once and automatically repeated, reducing repetitive trip requests and ensuring care continuity.
-
App Experience & Design Enhancements: We’ve introduced a series of usability upgrades that streamline navigation and simplify communication between members and transportation providers, while also improving cancellation alerts, and optimizing how we capture health and accessibility information.
Our platform for trip managers and administrators now includes additional tools and transparency, including:
-
Bulk Trip Assignment: Trip managers can now assign multiple trips at once from the All Trips page. The system automatically flags ineligible trips and logs every action for full transparency. This enhancement accelerates workflows while maintaining control and auditability.
-
Reviewing Recurring Schedule Requests: The platform now supports review and approval of recurring trip requests submitted through the Kinetik Health App. Administrators can now view, then approve or deny an entire schedule in a single action.
